LEAGUE

In 2019 the A's changed leagues and began participation in the Elite Baseball League (EBL).  The A's now enjoy a higher level of competition and travel opponents that are closer to home (on average).  The A's plan to roll into the 2020 EBL season as new veterans and we are looking for talented ballplayers and their families to join A's Nation for 2020!

Off Season Player & Team Development Program

BASEBALL SPECIFIC STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COURSE (PROPRIOCEPTION!)

The A's 2020 Strength and Conditioning Course has been completely redesigned to incorporate our new central theme of proprioception.  Proprioception is the awareness of and control over the position and movement of the body.  Scott and Brian Blumsack, through their vast experience coaching players of all ages and skill levels, have identified this as being the single most undervalued concept in today's game.  Yet, it is the absolute foundation upon which all athletic endeavors are built.  We have spent all of 2018 and 2019 observing, researching, and designing something totally new.  Something guaranteed to boost the performance of every athlete that is rooted in real science.

The A's Strength and Conditioning Course runs through the entirety of our Off Season Player & Team Development Program.

The A's enjoy the use of all the latest equipment such as Driveline, Rapsodo Pitching, Blast Motion, Jaeger, Stalker, Right View Pro, and more.

10U:  1x per week (optional Add-on)
11U through 18U:  2x per week (included)

TEAM PRACTICE

The A's Team Practices have always been a class above, and it will be no different in 2020.  There just aren't a lot of travel baseball programs out there that are being run by two former and successful college head coaches!  Our practice plans, team and player development planning, and core values for all A's teams come directly from Scott and Brian Blumsack.  We have you covered.

10U:  1x per week (weekend)
11U through 18U: 2x per week (usually one weekday evening and one weekend)

SUNDAY SKILL SESSION

Each week our players have the chance to come in on Sunday and work on a new skill set.  Whether it is middle infield footwork and feeds, hitting in advantage counts, or team running game work, by the end of the off season each player will have a greater understanding of many concepts that contribute to on-field success.

10U:  Optional Add-on
11U through 18U:  Included

CONFLICT POLICY

We know players and families experience schedule conflicts with other activities and events.  In this case, players are free to join a different team's session as needed.  It is that easy!  We don't want anyone missing player development opportunities because they can't make it to session with their specific team.

Game Season & Team Experience Program

ROSTERS

10U | 11U | 12U | 13U:  ~13 players

14U | 15U | 16U | 18U:  ~14 players

GAME SCHEDULE

  • Almost exclusively weekend double headers across the dates shown above.
  • Depending on age, level, and New England weather, seasons could be anywhere from 20-35 games.
  • Ages 14U and below will only play on a weekday in the case of a tournament game or a crucial makeup game.
  • Occasionally the A's may play a single 9-inning game.
  • A's HS age teams may occasionally play on a weekday.

GAME SEASON DAYS OFF

The only guaranteed days off for the A's in 2020 are going to be Easter and the 4th of July.  We expect all players will be present if games fall on any other days, including school vacation weekends.  Any other off days listed on the game schedule could be rain dates or makeup dates.

PLAYOFFS

10U | 11U | 12U | 13U | 14U

In the EBL most, if not all, teams make the playoffs.  The top teams qualify for the "Gold" Division playoffs and the remaining teams, the "Silver" division.  The playoffs consist of a 4-game weekend, with the top teams advancing to the Championships the following weekend.

15U | 16U | 18U

A's HS age teams may or may not participate in league playoffs.  Depending on the dates and format, it may be deemed a higher priority to attend a tournament or showcase event as opposed to participating in playoffs.  We want our teams to have this experience so if we are able to play in playoffs and the dates are available we will.

TOURNAMENTS

Tournaments provide fun experiences for teams, players and families.  Things such as time with teammates off the field and the  extra "buzz" around the ballpark can become cherished memories.  High school age tourneys provide exposure opportunities to college prospects.  There are no extra costs for A's players to attend tournaments other than family travel and accommodations.

When it comes to tournaments:

  • Expect the schedule to remain listed as "TBA" until 1-week before the event.
  • Expect games on all dates the tournament has listed AND at all times of the day (or evening if the field has lights).

10U:  1 tournament (Memorial Day weekend)
11U | 12U:  2 tournaments (April weekend, Memorial Day weekend)
