In 2019 the A's began participation in the Elite Baseball League (EBL). The A's now enjoy a higher level of competition, a higher percentage of professional opponents, opponents that are closer to home and drastically reduced scheduling issues such as last minute cancellations. The A's plan to roll into the 2020 EBL season as new veterans and we are looking for talented, humble ball players and their families to join A's Nation for 2020!

STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COURSE (PROPRIOCEPTION!)
The A's 2020 Strength and Conditioning Course has been completely redesigned to incorporate our new central theme of proprioception. Proprioception is the awareness of and control over the position and movement of the body. Scott and Brian Blumsack, through their vast experience coaching players of all ages and skill levels, have identified this as being the single most undervalued concept in today's game. Yet, it is the absolute foundation upon which all athletic endeavors are built. We have spent all of 2018 and 2019 observing, researching, and designing something totally new. Something guaranteed to boost the performance of every athlete which is rooted in real, not anecdotal, science.
The A's Strength and Conditioning Course runs through the entirety of our Off Season Player & Team Development Program.
10U: 1x per week (optional)
11U | 12U | 13U: 1x per week (included)
14U | 15U | 16U | 18U: 2x per week (included)
The A's Team Practices have always been a class above, and it will be no different in 2020. There just aren't a lot of travel baseball programs out there that are being run by two former and successful college head coaches! Many programs form teams and send them off to practice all off-season with young, parent or inexperienced coaches. With the A's all of our practice plans, team and player development planning, core values and more come directly from Scott and Brian Blumsack. Never again will you have to look out and wonder if your player could be doing something better. We have you covered!
10U: 1x per week (weekend)
11U | 12U | 13U | 14U | 15U | 16U | 18U: 2x per week (usually one weekday evening and one weekend)
SUNDAY SKILL SESSION
A few seasons ago we wanted to offer a new opportunity to the A's so we created a new program offered every Sunday. Each week our players have the chance to come in and work on a new skill set. Whether it is middle infield footwork and feeds, theories of hitting in advantage counts, or team running game work, by the end of the off season each player will have an understanding of many concepts that are usually not a part of youth or HS baseball. This program is crafted solely by Scott and Brian Blumsack and implemented by our most experienced coaches. A Sunday with baseball is the best kind of day off!
11U through 18U: Included
A few seasons ago we adopted a policy for busy families that has since helped countless players ensure they never miss a workout! We know players frequently experience schedule conflicts with other activities and events. In this case, players are free to join a different group as needed. It is that easy! We simply ask that you make every effort to attend the proper session and you do not attend extra sessions without our permission. This is just one more of the many reasons why your search for a real team is now over! Go A's!
10U | 11U | 12U | 13U: 13 players*
14U | 15U | 16U | 18U: 14 players*
*Roster sizes may deviate as we deem appropriate.
The A's take a logical approach towards game scheduling and we may or may not schedule all teams to play on all available days. We use our extensive experience managing teams and our knowledge of each individual team to shape our game season. Guaranteed games played in New England is an unrealistic approach given the weather. Instead we promise to continually strive to provide what our teams need to have a great season.
GAME SEASON DAYS OFF
The only guaranteed days off for the A's in 2020 are going to be Easter and the 4th of July. We expect all players will be present if games fall on any other days, including school vacation weekends.
10U | 11U | 12U | 13U | 14U
In the EBL most, if not all, teams make the playoffs. The top teams qualify for the "Gold" Division playoffs and the remaining teams, the "Silver" division. The playoffs consist of a 4-game weekend, with the top teams advancing to the Championships the following weekend.
15U | 16U | 18U
A's HS age teams may or may not participate in league playoffs. Depending on the dates and format, it may be deemed a higher priority to attend a tournament or showcase event as opposed to participating in playoffs. Please note we do want our teams to have this experience so if we are able to play in playoffs and the dates are available, we absolutely will.
Tournaments provide fun experiences for teams, players and families. Things such as time with teammates off the field and the extra "buzz" around the ballpark can become cherished memories. High school age tourneys provide exposure opportunities to college prospects. There are no extra costs for A's players to attend tournaments other than family travel and accommodations.
When it comes to tournaments:
10U: 1 tournament (Memorial Day weekend)
11U | 12U: 2 tournaments (April weekend, Memorial Day weekend)
13U | 14U: 2-3 tournaments (April weekend, Memorial Day weekend, mid July weekend)
